Caffe De Luca

We had high hopes for this restaurant as we looked at the menu and saw the other reviews. We are vegetarian, so maybe the food wasn't really made for us, but we found the flavors to be lackluster. The initial bread basket was cold (not warm bread). The pizza had a nice thin crust but the cheese and flavors didn't seem good. I kept tasting something different in there that I felt was ruining the flavor ... Something like cheddar cheese type of taste. The service was wonderful though. The staff was really nice. For the price we paid, the meal was not worth it. Maybe non-vegetarians might have a different experience.

This is one of my favorites places in the Oak Park / Forest Park neighborhoods! Love the decor, it’s multi leveled with a third floor outdoor and street level seating area for the warm months. The decor is warm with beautiful lamps hung from the ceiling and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and I have never had a bad meal there. I orders the grilled calamari- it was perfectly grilled and served on a bed of arugula salad. Best calamari I have ever eaten and for my main ordered a Milano pizza that the crust was crispy and just the right amount of toppings. Service was fantastic and the food came out hot and perfectly cooked. Great for casual dinners or a special occasion. Do not miss this place!

Nice little Italian spot in Forest Park. Quality Food...good vibes. My wife chose this place...glad she did...it was 🔥🔥🔥. For the appetizer we had the Crab Cakes. For the entree I had the Steak Panini and the Tropical Coconut Cocktail. My wife got the Rigatoni...and she said it was really good and flavorful..and perfect for a lunch portion. Well there you have it ...hit em up. 😁

Had a great time at caffe De Luca! Excellent service from the moment we arrived. Convenient parking in the lot across the street. We'd visited many years ago and were excited to return. This time we went light and already made plans to return to try more of the pastas. From what we could see from nearby diners the portions are large. We enjoyed our pizza and salad... and the TIRAMISU. It was the star today with the perfect blend of sweet and bitter. Highly recommend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Everything about Caffe De Luca is amazing. Highly suggest sitting on the roof, which is often closed for private parties, but the outdoor sidewalk seating is also great. The grilled calamari is one of the best appetizers I've ever had and even though they only have GF crust advertised on one pizza, you can get any of them gluten free!

Food is typically relatively good. My poor rating is for how they treat customers, particularly non-white customers. Our family has patronized this restaurant for awhile, via take-out, dining-in, and catering orders. The customer service while dining in has gradually decreased and tonight was probably my last visit. A friend and I arrived this evening for dinner and our server rushed us the entire evening. We ordered and ate and were talking, like every other patron there. It was around 7pm, not crowded, and there were several empty tables. After we paid our bill, we sat and talked and finished our drinks. The server comes by 3x to ask if we want to order more, and each time it felt more weird. He finally comes to tell us that if we're not ordering anymore food/drink we can sit at the bar or leave since they have reservations coming in. Again, there was 3-4 other empty tables, as well as guests who were there before we even walked in who were still sitting at their tables. I thought it was weird and rude. The servers and busboys stand by the bar and stared at us the entire time we were eating and it just felt like we were on a timer. Again, the place was not packed, several empty tables, several empty barstools. This isnt the first time Ive been rushed out at Caffe DeLucca but it will be the last.
